Anytime we feel a sore throat coming on we brew up a hot pot of the golden elixir of fresh lemon wedges and freshly grated ginger and simmer it on the stove top for 5 – 10 minutes.
In a medium pot on medium high heat:
Boil 8 cups of filtered water
1 large 2 inch piece of freshly grated ginger (use a microplane or chopped fine)
Add the juice of 2 lemons
Add 1/2 chopped fresh lemon wedges
*Add organic honey*
Simmer for 5 – 10 minutes. Using a fine mesh sieve pour into a large mug. You can strain the remainder of the tea into a jug and refrigerate for later use.
** Using a microplane will virtually juice the ginger in the tea. It will be hot, spicy and pungent. Add organic honey to taste.
